A location might represent a city, a facility, a branch, a building, a floor, a generator, an ups etc.

Faradai Energy presents opportunities to configure points. To learn more about configuring point management, you can go to this article: Configuring Point Management.

With the newly developed feature of Faradai Energy, many points can be editable simultaneously. 

Follow the steps below to use the newly developed feature:

  • Step 1: Firstly, go to the 'Admin Panel' from the 'My Account' section in the navigation bar.
  • Step 2: Go to the ***Locations ***section in the Admin Panel. From here, you can add or edit points in bulk.

Editing points in bulk

There are two different excel templates that users can use to add and edit multiple points at the same time. 

For editing points in bulk:

  • Step 1: Click the Edit button near the 'Create New +' button.

  • Step 2: Click the checkboxes left to the locations you want to edit.
  • Step 3: Click the Bulk Edit button.

  • Step 4: After clicking, a window will open. Click the 'Download Template' from this window.

There are three sheets for location, sub-location, and assets individually. 

Point types work in a hierarchy in the Faradai Energy Platform. To learn more about point management hierarchy, you can go to this article: Point Management Hierarchy.

  • Step 4.1: For editing locations via upload:
    • The first column, "Location ID, " which the system defines, needs to be changed.
    • Edit the name of the location from the "Location Name" area.
    • Choose the type of location from the "Type" area.
    • Select the utilisation purpose of the building from the "Activity" area.
    • Select a tag or multiple tags from the dropdown list. (Adding a tag to a point is optional)

To be able to select a tag, users have to define all needed tags for a point by using the locations feature from the Faradai Energy Platform UI once.

Tag examples: 250-500 m2, black sea region, west of Ankara,  middle east, East Europe, shopping mall, Turkey, climate control, etc.

  • Enter the area of the building (m2) from the "Area" area.
  • Write the location coordinates as latitude and longitude in the relevant fields. (Adding lat. and long. Information is optional)

Users can find the latitude and longitude information of the locations by using Google Sheets geocode transition add-ons. Then, users can copy the longitude and latitude information into the latitude and longitude columns of the excel template.

  • Step 4.2: For editing sub-locations via upload:

    • The first column, "Sub-location ID, " which the system defines, is not changeable.
    • Edit the name of the sub-location from the "Sub-location Name" area.
    • Choose the type of location from the "Type" area.
    • Select the utilisation purpose of the building from the "Activity" area.
    • Select a tag or multiple tags from the dropdown list. (Adding a tag to a point is optional)
    • Enter the area of the building (m2) from the "Area" area.
    • Select a parent from the dropdown list to change the appearing parent. A parent for a sublocation point could be a location or sublocation point type.

     

  • Step 4.3: For editing assets via upload:

    • The first column, "Asset ID, " the system defines, is not changeable.
    • Edit the name of the asset from the "Asset Name" field.
    • Choose the type of asset from the "Type” field.
    • Select a tag or multiple tags from the dropdown list. (Adding a tag to a point is optional)
    • Select a parent from the dropdown list to change the appearing parent. An asset point's" parent could be a location, sublocation, or asset point type.

     

  • Step 5: After finishing the process of editing location/sub-location/asset points information to the excel file, save the excel file.

  • Step 6: Upload the saved excel file by dragging or selecting from the computer into the platform.

If there is an error in the uploaded file, it will be re-downloaded to your computer. You must re-fill the excel file according to the instructions and upload it again.
